We are currently seeking self-motivated Transportation/ Traffic Engineers to help grow our company and their professional careers to the next level. These positions will be based in our Cary office or, for the right candidate, the Charlotte / Lake Norman area.

Transportation Engineer

Responsibilities include roadway design, PS&E and technical report preparation, and may also include project management, marketing, traffic engineering analysis and design, crash/safety analysis, and NEPA planning studies. Some travel to project sites or meetings may be required.

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years’ NCDOT roadway design experience
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, Geopak Corridor Modeling or OpenRoads Designer
  • Thorough understanding of NCDOT’s guidelines, procedures, and plan preparation standards
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Willingness and ability to learn new job skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • NC PE or ability to obtain PE in one year is preferred
  • Project management skills and traffic engineering project experience are both desirable

Traffic Engineer

Responsibilities include traffic analysis and simulations, crash/safety analysis, traffic signal design, signing and pavement marking design, work zone traffic control, and technical report preparation. Responsibilities may also include project management and marketing. Some travel to project sites or meetings may be required.

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years’ traffic engineering experience
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and traffic analysis programs such as Synchro, HCS, and Sidra
  • VISSIM and/or TransModeler traffic simulation skills are highly desired
  • Good understanding of traffic engineering principles, and familiar with NCDOT’s traffic analysis and design guidelines
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Willingness and ability to learn new job skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • NC PE or ability to obtain PE in one year is preferred
  • Project management skills and NEPA planning project experience are both desirable
